The Making of Logo Design

On this blog I'll be talking about my adventure on how I created my 3 logo designs. First of all, the photo below are some of the sketches that I made to come up with my final logo in Adobe Illustrator.

It was not easy to think of your own logo especially this is my first time to create or make a logo of my own. I may not be an expert to use Adobe Illustrator but I really did my best to come up with something that I like. I do love sketching that's why I chose pencil to be the object of my first logo.

The next 3 photos are my final Logo Design that I created using Adobe Illustrator.

Final Logo:

Combination Mark Logo

For my Combination mark logo, I just traced my sketch. Made few changes from color to style. I used pen tool to traced the sketch and text tool to type the word. Grouped them as one.

Brandmark Logo

For my Brandmark logo, I decided to use triangle shape to make it fit with the letter A. I just add the word studio.

Wordmark Logo

For my Wordmark logo, I used text tool to come up with my wordmark logo.

Webpage Design

My next blog is about Webpage Design. Visit this tutorial link to learn more on how to create a fabric textured web layout using Photoshop.

The webpage design that I followed from the tutorial is divided into 8 groups these are the header, navigation, featured area, portfolio, services, blog, footer, and copyright.

Header group is composed of the logo and the header background. The logo was made from this tutorial. I tried studying the Adobe Illustrator but it was unsuccessful that's why I decided to use Photoshop instead. I used layer style for the background and some different brushes to make some fine lines on the background. For the dotted line, I used the define pattern. Navigation group, I used text tool for the words, and layer style for the active tab. Featured group is composed of the button, image slider, navigation bullet and some text. I used layer style to some layers and used clipping mask for the image slider. Services group, this was the hardest layer that I made. I need to make a 3D room and spotlights to make it realistic. Portfolio group is composed of different kinds of images that I browsed through the internet. I made 15 boxes then I created clipping mask from each boxes. Blog group same thing what I did from the portfolio, I created clipping mask and some layer style. For the Footer group and Copyright group I just repeat what I did from my Header group. For the Twitter bird image I just look for it from the internet.

I learned a lot from this tutorial especially the uses of the layer style and other tools. Learned new things such as convert the layer to Smart Object and Create Clipping Mask. I enjoyed doing this activity.

Neon Text Effect

In this tutorial, you will learn how to make a neon text effect in Photoshop using layer style and textures. Same thing from the previous tutorials, follow the step by step process to come up a text effect from the above image.

REFLECTION:

Using Photoshop never been so easy for me. It took me how many hours just to finish one text effect. It was fun and I enjoy this activity a lot. I have learned the importance of layer style, blending modes, and colors. Mixing and matching colors, and blending modes is a new learning experience worth the time and effort. It was fantastic to create something that I never thought I can make one.

Learning from tutorials are helpful to beginners like me. I always believe to this quote "Practice makes perfect", I will practice more and find other tutorials to enhance my skills and creativity.

The Impact of Multimedia to the Society

Multimedia is a generalized word of all media that we use in our daily life. The multimedia changed our life there is no doubt about it. Computers, appliances, and gadgets are things we have to deal with everyday. From the past, it was hard to send a letter from one city to another, or communicate with people from other places, but with the birth of technology, such heavy intricate tasks no longer require effort and time. Our lives from that point onward have become a lot easier.

As a 90’s baby, I was lucky enough to experience using some pretty old gadgets that are no longer enjoyed by the current generation. Way back it was really hard to use some of it. One example of these is the telephone (below you can see photos of the telephones from before to the present).

Basically, telephones were invented in order to lessen the hassle of translating your thoughts and messages into letters (text) and sending them from one post office to another. Through the birth of such handy tool, we were introduced to a new medium for communication which is through the exchange of audio messages. As time passes by, telephones were innovated from the amusing circular dials to the present phones with touch screens. From the simple gadget made for exchange of audio messages, it evolved into another technology that is open for audio, text, and even video media.

As an IT student, it will be convenient on my part to do my home works by using the multimedia. Multimedia will be my partner from my daily activities at school. I will mostly be using the multimedia to interact with people easier and faster.

Multimedia will be my best buddy. Base on my degree right now, it is a lot easier to work with these 6 types of medium on multimedia.
